Hump Day Reflections.

DOES ANYONE FEELING ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING?
Yeah?
I'm anxious a lot too. So I get you.
How do you get rid of these anxieties?
One word.
Gratitude.
Gratitude is powerful.
It pushes away your anxieties so you can focus on what you are grateful for and be filled with peace instead.
Showing gratitude is simple and can be done in 4 easy steps.

1. Think of 5 things in the last few days that you LOVED.

2. Write them down. {really. do it.} {i'm not kidding}

3. Now, think of the specific reasons WHY you loved those things and write those down.

4. Finally, thank God for them. Really thank Him and mean it from the heart.

SEE. That wasn't very hard.
Now, think about it.. when you were reflecting back over the good things of the last couple day, what happened to the anxieties? They were temporarily forgotten. They were pushed back and the good things that you loved were first and foremost in your mind and heart.
Additionally, when you think about those things that you love, how does it make you feel? It should make you feel happy. It should give you joy. It should fill you with a sense of peace.
THIS is good.

When your mind is full of anxieties, you are essentially filled with fear and fear is NOT from God. We need to get rid of that fear in our lives. Instead of fear, we need to be filled with the joy and peace that come from God.
And it all of this boils down to a choice we have control over.
We choose to either nurture the fear and the anxieties... or we choose to chuck all that trash out the window and focus on nurturing the joy and the peace.
To me, the answer is pretty clear.
It can be an intimidating choice. But once we choose correctly, the nurturing will start with 4 easy steps.
It starts with Gratitude.

So. Let me ask you a different question than I did at the beginning of this post.
Did anyone show God gratitude today?
Did anyone thank Him for the very good things in your life?

If not.. well, I'd get out a pen and paper and start thinking and thanking and say "so long" to those anxieties.

"Every good endowment and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change."
