Concerning Merrill Jane...

I really think she is swell.
Seriously.
See, this year we are debate partners.
Funny thing, when we found out we were partners...let's just say that the both of us weren't exactly thrilled to death.
Things didn't start out all that dandy.
I was honestly pretty worried about it.
I prayed a whole bunch and told myself that God had put us together for some bizarre reason.
We had our first practice tournament....and after that I was really worried.
But then I think...that in both of our minds and hearts...something clicked (or snapped...or hit us...whatever) and we both started working well together. I think we realized that God put us together so we had to make it work and get through whatever struggles we were having.
We succeeded.
We did pretty well at our first real tournament. I was super proud.
I thought to myself, "THIS IS GOOD."
Lately, I think I've been understanding why God decided that Merrill and Rachel were gonna be partners. God knew that I would need a partner who (not even kidding) asks how I'm doing like every 5 seconds.
She says I'm a strong person. *shrugs* Maybe I am and maybe I'm not. Depends on the given day.
My debate partner is one of the most determined and driven individuals I have ever met. She sets goals and that is one of the most admirable things a person can do. I really think she has rubbed off on me in a good way. She may be a stubborn young lady but I still love her very much.
She is a true inspiration and a wonderful partner.
Oh, and friend. She's a pretty good friend too. ;)
I've learned from her. I really have.
And I wish I could say some more profound things about her but I just woke up and my brain hasn't exactly started processing.
There you go Merrill -- you wanted me to blog again. How's this?
*smiles and winks*

But no, seriously. This is the sweetest. And 'stubborn'.....well, its probably the most fitting description anyone has ever made of me.

Guess what? He who created the foundations of the world is still creating! We are on our way to something beautiful, ojeda! and I am so so so so glad that i'm the one who gets to work with you and watch it happen this semester.

ps: "we had our first practice tournament and after that i was really worried. HAHAHAHAHA. I literally laughed out loud there. so true. so very true.
