I GOT THIS.
script submission.
three out of my five speeches are ready to be submitted tomorrow night to the parents who have turned into the analytical critics on the lookout to disqualify you at any given opportunity for any given reason. you stand in front of the court waiting to see if you pass as innocent or go down in flames as guilty.
.....just kidding. kind of. it's a pretty scary process. i get butterflies in my stomach every time i approach the script submission tables.
who even thought the iron man award was a good idea anyways? why don't i just become one of those debate-only competitors who don't have to worry about it?
i mean, those are the smart kids. they actually have time for school and social activities whereas we have to sit in front of a computer for hours squinting at the rambles we just typed up and call a "speech."not to mention the fact that we practice our speeches in front of the mirror until our throats become sore.
well obviously we are a little crazy. yeah, it gets really stressful and overwhelming sometimes, but hey, i feel like it's all worth it in the end whether you are presented with first place, seventh place, or even if you don't place at all. just knowing that you may have pushed yourself to any kind of personal limit should be the greatest feeling of accomplishment. not even kidding.
yeah. that's all i have to say.
oh, actually that's a lie...this is my thought and mindset for the upcoming tournament.
"Take my dreams, come and give them wings.
Lord, with you, there is nothing I cannot do.
My hands,
My feet,
My everything,
My life,
My love,
Lord use me."
okay. that's all for real.
the end and ta ta for now.

ReplyDeleteAnd hey, going for the Iron Man award is pretty commendable! I don't think you'll regret it. :)
